    Hello,

I have installed a database on my pc with win95.
The database works fine. But now I have installed Oracle Designer 2.1 and when I'll log in, I got the message : 'ORA-12154, TNS could not resolve service name'. In sqlplus I can log in with the same username/password@connectstring.

Does anyone know what I can do to solve the problem.

    Thanks,

    Sebastiaan

You will need to go to the $ORACLE_HOME directory of Designer and update the tnsnames.ora file in the network/admin or Net80/admin directory.

It must include the database that serves as the repository for Designer.

    Good luck.

But, the ORACLE_HOME from Designer is the same as from SqlPlus. And in SQLPlus, I can connect with the database, no problem. What must I change in the TNSNAMES.ora?

    Thanks a lot.
