Migration from 8.0.5 to 8.1.7

I would like to find out steps fro migrating database from 8.0.5 to 8.1.7. Which approach is the best fro migration? (export/import, running scripts, usign oracle migration utility...). Do I really need to have 2nd oracle home for 8.1.7 to migrate using scripts? The 8.0.5 server has several datafiles. Total size of the database is 4.2 gb. I really need help. Thanks in advanced!!!!!

Other then the links above as you said you have two options

1) Export/Import

2) Migration using ODMA or manual migration

Better if you install oracle 8.1.7 in a new oracle home among the above options I allawys feel more comfortable migrating the database using ODMA or manual migration but make sure you have a valid backup before you go ahead with any of the options above
