Automatic Service Startup does not start up the databases---Please Help

Hi,
I have 3 Oracle 8.1.7 databases (Orignally migrated from Oracle 8.0.5 on Windows NT ) installed on a windows 2000 machine with their services configured to be automatic.

Also in the registery the pfile parameter points to the place where theparameter file is located.

Even then when I reboot the computer or stop and start the services the databases are not started up automatically. (They are shutdown when the service is stopped but do not startup themselves even when I start the services.

Please Help me out with this.

You have to set the services to be automatic.

Hi Anurag,

Take a look at the event viewer on your server to see if it is generating some error in the logs.
