What are the reasons that would make you think of creating a listener password to prevent unauthorized access to your listener?

    Hi,
Normally the password is used to start and stop the listener. It is just to see that only the passwords listed in the paramater PASSWORDS_listener_name can be used to perform certain DBA tasks against the listener.
In case of any problems please be free to ask me at rohitsn@altavista.com
