TNS Protocol Error

I used the migration assistant to move a 7.3.4 database to 8.1.6. This was succesfull.

Later I deinstalled the 7.3.4 server and removed all the binaries including SQL*Net since I already had Net8 installed as part of the migration.

After this when I try to startup, it comes back with a
"TNS Protocol Error"

Can somebody help please.

What is the status of your tnsnames.ora file?

What is the status of your listener?

Did you try to reconfigure using the Net8 Assistant?
