    Hi,

    can you only use scripts in RMAN if you have a recovery catalog? By this I mean if you use the controlfile instead of the recovery catalog you cannot create scripts.

    RMAN scripts are created and stored within the Recovery Catalog.

    Hi,
    Yes if u have recover catalog then only u can create scripts in RMAN.If u use controlfile then u cannot create scripts as the scripts are stored in Recovery catalog.
