Thread: Connection to Oracle 8 personal Edition

    Hi.. All

    I got a system with personal oracle Installed. I started the database.. Fine it started nicely. But, I couldn't connect to the database. I don't know the password.. How can i change the password of the user sys /sytem/internal or how can i connect?.. Can I create a password file? Any other method?

    it started directly..

    Hi

    Hi..

    Those threads talking about the Server Passwords... But I am working with a Peronal Edition ver. 8. can I use ORAPWD and SVRMGR with Personal Oracle ? I doubt it..? More over I can't find it here...

    Net 8 is required..??

    To connect to Perosnal Oracle Net 8 is required? My database is in the Same System where i am working. OS is Windows 98.

    While I am getting a message:

    ERROR:
    ORA-12203: TNS:unable to connect to destination

    What colud be the reason..? Wher I have to look.. Please help..
