    Our production DB is 7 x 24 and we need backup 30 + Gb and
    quick recovery when the storage failures. can you guys give me some backup recovery strategies?

    What is you disk ?
    How big is it ?
    What are the database uptime requirements ?
    What is the application ?
    Will you be running the db in ARCHIVELOG mode ?
    How much is the actual data withing these 30 gigs ?

    How big is it ?
    Doesn't matter. Good strategy should take care of it.

    What are the database uptime requirements ?
    24x7 Hot backup mode
    needs shutdowns on cold backup mode.

    What is the application ?
    What are you looking for? You can use veritas,legato, tsm and etc.

    Will you be running the db in ARCHIVELOG mode ?
    Hot backup mode systems Yes
    Cold backup mode ones optional. Personally prefer them also to be in the archive mode, for the consistent recovery.

    How much is the actual data withing these 30 gigs ?
