    Where can I read more about ORAPING and Oracle Fail Safe ?
    I couldn't find it in the Online manuals for 8i

    I am trying to figure out how Faile Safe is setup and work and how OraPing is setup...

    For FailSafe the documentation is included in the distribution. Either get the CD with FailSafe or download the latest version from Technet (it's free), you'll find the documentation in there.

    As for ORAPING - I don't even know what it is and what is it used for. Or did you mean TNSPING?

    Hi

    in metalink i found only one reference to oraping at it had something to do with SQL*NET config for windows, found it only once. i think it is long gone nad out of use.
