Impact of session_cached_cursors

Hi,
Yesterday I had set the value for the parameter session_cached_cursors to 50 from 0. Now I want to find out whether this values is sufficient or I need to increase it further and whether increasing it further will give me a performance gain or not.

I cannot do a trial and error since it is a production system.

Any ideas on how to find out the effectiveness of the session_cached_cursors parameter.
