    Hi,

I am a beginner to the Oracle Database. I am asked to write a performance monitoring guideline. Can anybody give me some advice on what should be done?

It is an Oracle 8.1.5 in NT. I've found a tool Oracle Performance Monitor for Window NT from the Oracle manual. But I'm not sure is it the one?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    nngk

What are the deliverables of your project? How many users? What is the purpose of the database?

If you are new to Oracle on NT, I suggest you look at DBA Studio as well. It doesn't give performance statistics, but allows the monitoring of space.

    oh Dave,

Is there any really GENERAL way in marking the performance monitoring guideline for Oracle on NT ??

They don't even install the Enterprise Manager here. Application is not developed with Oracle. Oracle is used as a database only.
