    folks,

I want to create a password file with 'orapwd' on SUNUNIX 5.7 and encountered the above error. Anyone could help me, I'd appreciate it.

What version of Oracle are u running? 8 or 8i?

I was unable to find any error message documentation with OPW-000002. Maybe u should contact Oracle support.

    Hi

I checked on metalink this is what they had to say about ur error message

The OPW errors will be in either the Oracle Error Messages online docs or in the OS Specific docs also on the media.

The only reference to this error showed there was no space left on the disk device to write to this file. By freeing somce space the file could be written to again and the error did not reproduce.

Also please review on UNIX: $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/mesg/opwus.msg

    2, 1, "Unable to close password-file"

Please check the space available on the disk where the pwdfile is located. Try to free some space on the drive where you are creating the password file and retry to create the password file

    Hope this helps

    Regards

    Santosh
