Thread: Service Not initialised - Win 95 ???????????????????????

    I have installed Oracle 8.1.7 on Windows 95 (Admin Level)
    But I cannot get connected when I connect thru INTERNAL
    I get the Error 0ra - 24314 service handled not initialised. Since there is no Service option in Windows 95 , how can i initialise it. Sometimes I get the error ORA- 12560 tns protocol Adapter error.

    Can You please assist me.

    check ur listener file n start it up...by going to lsnrctl>start
    ...and then connect.

    check if both tnsnames.ora & listener.ora files exist in the first place

    No doubt it's because 817 isnt made for Win95. Consider getting a version compatible with your OS (Personal Oracle 816).
