I have a general question...
If you fail one OCP DBA exam...and pass on next time...do you still get Oracle Certification as long as you pass all five?
-
YES
As long as you pass all 5 tests (no matter how many times you retake them until you pass) you will be certified.
-
Except that you can't retake the exam you have failed with in the next 30 days.

Hi,
There are different tracks available in Oracle DBA Certificaion
The tracks and the papers are as follows
Oracle 8.0 DBA track
1) SQL and PL/sql
2) Database administration
3) Performance tuning
4) Backup and recovery
5) Network and administration
6) Oracle 8i New features
Oracle 8i DBA track will have only the first 5 papers stated above but they will be for oracle 8i
Hope this helped

That clears my confusion.. thank you!!
my understanding is that 1st five paper for both 8 & 8i are very similar. Right!
Well, I understand that there would be some difference between the two tracks, but will it be great enough that, if I prepare for 8 and take 8i, i would be VERY difficult for
me to pass !!
Please answer my question in context of the below:
I have been preparing for Oracle 8, but now I want to take
8i tests.
Thank you,
nk

HI there , i feel that there ain;t much of the difference between theses 2 exams . But i wud advice you to clear up Oracle 8 DBA certifin first , as you said you are studying the stuff related with oracle 8.0 , and then just cover one more paper of 8 to 8i upgrade , which will earn one more certification for you .
what say ?
OCP 8.0, 8i, 9i
