    Hi,
    What is the maximum number of control files and redo log files you can create.

    As per oracle, you could have any number of control files but as they are usually multiplexed, I feel, it is limited to the number of disks you have. I may be wrong, but is logical

    Hi

    I agree with badrinath logically I dont think there is maximum no of control files and redo log files in oracle as they are multiplexed I dont think we will go to a limit where we are going to have 100's of control files for an Instance and 100's of redo log file.The resources in ur environment is the only restriction.

    control files max of 32 and log groups of max 255

    Hi,
    The maximum number of control files is 8 whereas maximum no of log groups is 32.The default mininum and maximum are dependend on ur O/S

    I agree with Rohitsn,
    COntrol file = 8
    logfiles = 32
    There Nothing You cannot Do, The problem is HOW.
