Nologg operation on logged database

Hi,

The other RDBMS pundits say that any unlogged operation like truncate table will make the backup completely useless and no recovery will be possible after the point unlogged operation was performed, for any DB objects.

I do not agree to this. I feel only the object on which unlogged operation was performed, will be useless ( corrupt).

Right? Please send your operation before I try it on my production system.

Tablespace Point In Time Recovery deals with recovering data from exact time. You can even backup your database before taking any major step.

You are right. Morover, the objects on which nologged operation was performed will not be corrupt in any way, they will only not contain data changes from nologged operations. And this will be in effect only untill the first next backup, after which any kind of recovery will recover all the data.
