I used an S99dbstart file to automatically startup and shutdown the Oracle instance in /etc/rc2.d. Could you please tell me where I can find the UNIX startup and shutdown log files to verify the Oracle instance startup/shutdown?
It is a Oracle 8.1.6 database on Solaris 8.
Thank you in advance!
Usually, the startup and shutdown messages are written to /var/adm/messages upon startup or shutdown of the system.
"I pledge to stop eating sharks fin soup and will not do so under any circumstances."
You will find the alert log file availabe wherever ur parameter
is pointing to in the initialization file of ur database
