Hi,
The ora-12571 is usually an indication of the following:
Check for possible network or network related equipment problems, such a bad router card.
Check for any duplicate ip address in your configuration files, TNSNAMES.ORA and
LISTENER.ORA
EDIT the SQLNET.ORA file on the client and server. Remove the following entry from the
SQLNET.ORA file on both the client and
server:
SQLNET.EXPIRE_TIME=0

Investigate ?
Hi, 17th May 2001 18:29 hrs
1)Switch on the tracing .It should tell where the data is being lost.
2)try to ping from client as well as from server to the client ?
3)Check with invalid NLS_LANG settings in the registry.
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/ORACLE and check the NLS settings for continuity with the settings of the db on the server. One could delete these settings in the registry
of the pc and the NLS would default to that of the server.
4)Check with the system admin any existing network problem
