    Hi friends...

I was looking at our listener.log and noticed the folowing :

    02-MAY-2001 19:03:20 * service_update * amlp * 0

    repeated many times.

Does anyone know what this means, what the system was doing at the time these messages appeared ?

    Thanks in advance

    Suresh

    Hi,
The database updates the Listener every 10 minutes apart from registering/unregistering during startup/shutdown. This is normal. This frequency cannot be changed or configured.

    Hi,
The message you are getting has to do with the listener - service_update is logged when there is a change.

In MTS environment, the database updates the listener with dispatcher and server information as there are dynamic in nature. The Listener needs to know whenever the dispatchers/servers change in number.

    regards,
    Rotem.
