    Hi,

Can somebody give me info on configuring Oracle management Server on HP/UX for 8.1.6? I do not find the things like emca or oemctl on the machine. These things are not there on the Server CD ( Enterprise edition) too. The OEM CD is only for Windows, I supose.

No! One thing that would have happend was that you would have not installed the management server. You could install it by running your installer and choose the custom/oracle Management server, the third option. It would be good to install it under a different home, such that you can do upgrading and etc without any problem.

    I would suggest .../product/oem/

You can check to see whether the binaries are there under $ORACLE_HOME/bin. If it had been already installed then you would have files like emca, oemctrl, oemapp. IF you don't find that then it means that who ever had chose to install the oracle server had taken the liberty, of not to install it with the server. On such case you have to run the oracle installer from the CD and choose the custom option and there you can choose all the possible OEM components that you want to have.

    Hope this would help you.

    OEM for 8.1.6 on HP/UX

    Hi Sambavan,

I did as advised and installed OEM server side on 8.1.6. It said installation successful but no emca or oemctrl appeared in the $ORACLE_HOME/bin or any where. I am at my wits end.

It is possible to check whether it is there is CD. The product in jar format. I feel there is some java command to read this jar file and see the list of files.
