    Dear all,
    I read some books about rollback uncommitted transaction -
    Actually this is PMON or SMON responbitity ? Some book said this is PMON some said SMON ? Very confusing ....

    Please let me know the exact one ... Thanks

    If a user process fails - such as when the client locks up or disconnects, then PMON handles server process recovery.

    During startup, necessary rollback (due to instance recovery) is handled by SMON.
