Hi
I will uninstall oracle and try to Install again.
Just one more help please tell me that is there a RAM problem? I have 64 Mb RAM (but when I checked it showing
63Mb Ram)
Oracle 8.1.6 requires more RAM or will 63mb do?
Thanks

My Machine:
PIII 800
256MB Ram
45 GB HDD w/20G free
I also have a 2nd 40GB drive, for my Linux system . . .
I still had errors, hangs, unplanned reboots, database deletions . . .

Since, I haven't played with that I don't have any clue. Does the docs say that it is enough? If so you should be fine. BTW, I had earlier played with the installation of 8.1.6 EE on Win2000 64MB Ram. It went smooth. So I beleive that it should be fine.
Proceed!

Make sure your uninstall is Clean and doesn't leave any traces of the current installation to prevent the problems upfront.
Try deleting the Oracle Key in the regitry(BE CAREFULL!!). Don't touch anything else except Oracle registry key.
It sholud be in /HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/

Hi Rekha,
if you have already installed oracle 8i and have problems. Try to uninstall it. Restart your computer. Go to the services and close all your other program services. Now try reinstalling it again. Or get your machine upgraded to 128mb ram i think that will work fast.
When the going gets tough, the tough gets going

Hi
Hi rekha
RAM is not a problem.
U just remove the keys from registry and also delete the directory where u installed oracledb. then after reboot run the installer again. it will work smooth.
Just give it a try and i feel u'll do it.
After that start practising.

Oracle 8.1.6
you have to Reinstall it with Different Oracle Home OR
Install with same home after deleting the ORAWIN from C: and ORACLE folder from Registry
