    How to calculate max_open_cursors?

    only developer, know how many cursors opened...

    you need change init.ora.... open_cursor = 1000

    You want to set max_open_cursors to a value large enough to run your stuff without issues but not excessively large in order to avoid overhead.

    You can monitor your Open Cursors environment running query below...

    Code:
    select   count(*)               "# Sessions", 
             round(avg(count(*)))   "AVG OpenCursors", 
             max(count(*))          "MAX OpenCursors" 
    from     v$open_cursor a 
    group by a.sid;
