I have just installed Oracle 8i on a new test machine that has no other Oracle products installed. I tried signing onto SQL and got the error message about too many processes.
This is on NT. How can I have too many processes when I just installed it and noone is using it? I changed the processes parameter and it is now working but I wonder why I had the problem when there were no connections.

    Any thoughts appreciated.

    Thanks.

    The Number of Process?

    Hi, 4th May 2001 18:02 hrs chennai

Can you tell me how many no of process in the initially and to what level you increased it.?

Actually you need min 5 process at begining plus 1 for all user sessions. While ARCH etc are used then the count will go up.

    Cheers
