Thread: Assign a rollback segment to an export

    My export bombs because of snapshot too old, rollback segment too small. As a result, I created a big rollback segment and I want to only assign it for my export. How can I accomplish that?

    The only way I know of is to take all the other rbs offline and then start the export.

    Will taking other rollback segments offline during the day cause any potential disruption to the database , since I guess it has to flush current rollback segment data to this big one?

    It can cause problems if there are users logged on and transactions are being processed.

    There are known reasons for ORA 1555 on export. Check Metalink for related docs.
