We have a new 11GR2 database.The listener.ora is configured to handle services dynamically.Below is the content of listener.ora
# listener.ora Network Configuration File: /opt/oracle/product/11.2/network/admin/listener.ora
# Generated by Oracle configuration tools.
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = imdbsu02dev.fmrco.com)(PORT = 1534))
ADR_BASE_LISTENER_11GR2 = /opt/oracle/product
The issue we are facing is even though listener is running in 11G home if we do a lsnrctl status from 11G home it is pointing to 9.2 listener.If we do lsnrctl status LISTENER_11GR2 (listener name),then it shows correct result.
Has any one ever faced this issue?
so whats the problem, you have a non standard name on a non standard port
working as expected
yes...but usually if we set the environment variables it should point to the correct home....but in this case if i set environment variable for 11gr2 home and then do lsnrctl status it is still showing 9.2 listener???
unless until you have a separate OS account for 11G home, it won't show 11G listener as default.
if i source 10g home and check for lsnrctl status...it shows th correct one...can you explain me the sigificance of ADR_BASE_LISTENER* in listener.ora
sorry Mohith, I never used this parameter.
thats fine....can any one explain what this is used for
Grid Control Listener
Did you install 11gR2 grid control. Maybe your listener is running through there?
Documentation. Highly underrated. Are you familiar with it?
