I have an export file coming from 188.8.131.52 running on Linux and I tried to import to 184.108.40.206 on windows and I got the below errors:
Connected to: Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 220.127.116.11.0 - Production
With the Partitioning, OLAP and Oracle Data Mining options
JServer Release 18.104.22.168.0 - Production
IMP-00010: not a valid export file, header failed verification
IMP-00000: Import terminated unsuccessfully
any suggestions of what happpened???

Is it possible that your dmp file was ftp-ed from linux box to your Windows box in ascii mode? It is a binary file, so it must be transfered in binary mode....

Thanks for your reply. I know for sure that I transfer this file using binary mode.

In any case Oracle sees that dmp file as corrupted one. It was either corrupted during the transport process (which you say is not the case), or the file was corrupted during export process or the file somehow got corrupted after it was created.
Out of experience - in 99% cases it is the ascii ftp mode that is a real cause of the corruption.
