oradim

Hi:

What is the purpose of oradim in NT for a database creation?
I have worked on unix never came across oradim.

oradim -new -sid PVDR -intpwd oracle -startmode auto -pfile %PFILE%
oradim -startup -sid PVDR -intpwd oracle -starttype srvc,inst -pfile %PFILE%

Oradim on NT is used to create (and modify and delete) a database service for Oracle instance. Services are concept that is specific for NT/2000 environment (because of its multithreaded architecture), you won't find anything similar on Unix, so that's why oradim is not needed there....
