I would like to know how much the database has grown, once a procedure that puts about 600MB of data (based on the network traffic) has run.
Is there a procedure I can use that would give me actual change in the database size before and after?

If you know the procedure puts in 600MB of data, for all practical purposes, the database growth IS 600MB.
For an Oracle database, "database size" is either not a defined term or is open for interpretations.
600M data may take more than 600 space.
check free space (dba_free_space) before and after run to get
a pictur of how much Oracle space is used.
