If you are using RMAN + Veritas Netbackup can you please share with me where you are scheduling your RMAN script?
Is it scheduled inside a UNIX cron or inside Netbackup itself?
Currently, I run hot backups daily from a cron and then the Netbackup policy is scheduled latter to put the files off to tape. To make the scheduling process more top-down, I vision a Netbackup script running the RMAN script and when the hot backup is completed Netbackup knows exactly when and then starts archiving to tape.
