Process of upgradation

Hi

I have noticed that people usually come up with the new thoughts regarding Upgradation of Apps from 11.5.5 to 11.5.10
1. Std way of doing this using AIM methodology with all the categories. (This is what I prefer and I have done two upgradation from 11.0.3 to 11.5.9 using this)
2.Create the new fresh installation of of 11.5.10 and put back the Database of 11.5.5

I am not sure about this second Point Approach , Has any body tried this if yes then will he share his experience with us.
