1. which view I can see the value of maxloghistory
2. I heard this is bug, fixed on 816, is it true?
where I can see more detail discusion
3. where I can get more infor regarding the contents of control file and the relation with rman

Dump the controlfile to trace.

svrmgr>alter database backup controlfile to trace;
