Just reposting your question, you wrote your select with a "lower than" sign so it was interpreted as HTML and displayed incorrectly (look at the source code of the first post)
Could any one clarify the following
When i execute the query
select pid, program from v$process
this shows me the order of Oracle background processes started, in the order of PID, i would like to know what the first entry is ?? it shows
PID - 1 , Program - PSUEDO
what is this PSUEDO process . ?? what is its significance as related to Oracle bg processes??
Any information on this would be welcome
Regards
Sham
now the answer, taken from Metalink :
The pseudo process is not a real process, and it has no associated session. It is just here to help in the management of internal process structures, for example it is responsible for interim 'ownership' of internal structures associated with a process such as when a process is killed.
