You can find a lot on the IBM web site.
About 3 months ago, I purchased a DB2 UDB Certification Guide and tested it out a little.
I found that in Germany, where I am located, there is almost no market for DB2 outside of the mainframe.
Good luck.
Hi Dave,
I hear that there is a good market for DB2 in North America.
Recently, I found out that DB2 product has lot of sales these days. So, there should be a good market for DB2 in the comming days.
I have a question for you. Which track should I prepare for DB2 certification as Database Administarator? I mean we have DBA track in Oracle for OCP, Similarly , What is the Track in IBM?
How many exams should we write to achieve the DBA certification?
And finally, Which is the best book for DB2 Certification?
Thanks

DB2 is still the dominant database in my company. We are large and use a lot of mainframes though. Most DB2 people refer to Oracle as "A Toy" not a "Real computer" pretty funny. From what I hear DB2 is about 15 years ahead of Oracle, especially where third party software is concerned.
Questions? Comments?, Commentary?, Cliches?

Hmm, I suppose they still think the PC is a toy at your company, no?Quote:

I think when compared to the size and processing capabilities of Mainframe, PC may be considered as a toy.
My focus was on UDB, not on the mainframe version of DB2.
There is a steady demand for COBOL and DB2 where I am located now, but I do not want to go down that path. I have found no market for DB2 on Unix or Win2K in Germany.
Whatever certificate interests you and has market value would seem appropriate. Maybe this link is helpful:

Good luck.
