Interview Questions

Here are two questions that I was asked during one of my interview:

1- Where does the ORA-XXXX error messages get stored in a Unix system?

-My Answer: first look at the Alert.log
-And I would look under the $Oracle_Home\bin directory ?????????


2- what do you need to do to look at processing status, like process waiting for execution?

-My Answer: to use statspack utility and to write a script that involves V$session and V$waitstats???

How would you answer them?

I wouldn't. If they don't know the answers to these simple questions, I wouldn't want to work for them..... :D

oerr command, and this command reads from $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/mesg/oraus.msg
