Hello friends
since the OS authentication problem is not yet solved on my system so in mean time iam planning to create users with password.My OS Win2000 and Oracle 8i.just like in OS how to create a user with a profile so that at first logon he need to change password .Can any one list the details.All the remarks are appreciated.

identified by password

when i did this on the profile the user still able to login with the password supplied by me only. Oracle is prompting him to change the password .since in profile under expire password there are only two options 1)expire in
2)lock. I gave the option default.

just now i got the solution.After login with the password supplied by me,after typing the word PASSWORD at sql prompt Oracle is asking the user to change the password.Now the user is authorised to change the password.Is it same procedure.Any one who is following the password convention can give their remarks.
