External Authentication using LDAP

Hi,

I would like to know if it is possible to configure Oracle 9i DB to use an external LDAP server for authentication? I guess it is possible to use OID, but I would want to use a different LDAP server specific to an organization and has its own structure.
If it is possible, please give some details or some links where I can find details.
