USING CLUSTERS IN OLTP!Possible!

Hi!

Working on Oracle v8i with OS as Win2000/NT.

Query:

Is it possible to use Clusters in OLTP environments.

As far as I know, Clusters are used heavily in DSS environments and that if used on OLTP environments could slow down database performance! Is this correct!

Please correct me if I am wrong!

Yes, you are right. Clusters are used for specific requirements/queries. They are not suitable for rapidly changing OLTP. clusters slow down DMLs.
