develop metrics for grid control?

Hi,

Grid control doesnt collect statistics on number of rows in table plus other
information which might be usefull...
we have our own housekeeping procedure which works similar to grid control, just wondered
if its possible to have our own developed metrics(developed using shell script/pl-sql) add to grid control?

yes you can have user defined metrics at various levels like host,db

what about having historical information like number of rows in table gatherd/stored in grid, can we edit grid to keep such information too?

you cant change whatever metrics are present by default but can change the thresholds etc for those metrics.

as i said you can have user defined metrics as per your wish.
in your case you want "number of rows in table" this could be a db metric develop a script in perl or shell on your own and call it in User defined metric.

currently as part of our housekeeping we keep historical information about,table,database,tablespace sizes for couple of month so we can go back and have a look at it and do comparision if required to do so.... I undrestand that grid by default stores historical information about database performance etc ....
can we extend this so it includes historical information on tablespace,size,tables row? (something that is not collected and stored in grid by default),
