I think it might be a good time to turn to your local help resources. Who wrote the rest of the PERL stuff that you are using? Can you talk to them about it? Your local DBA? How about the "They" who want a one click solution?

You're right my environment was not set adequately. (I did not have an ORACLE_HOME value in my UNIX path.) Now my path is looking in the right place and the script is running!
