Dear Members/Moderators
We currently have two databases running on oracle 8.1.6 and one on 8.1.7 on the same host machine. We are going to upgrade the other two databases running on 8.1.6 to 8.1.7. Can someone please outline what would be the best procedure to upgrade the other two databases from 8.1.6 to 8.1.7 on the same machine?

I would definitely look at using the Migration Assistant (odma). I have upgraded 15+ databases from 8.1.5.1 to 8.1.7.1 over the past three months using this tool and it has worked flawless.

Thanks Jeff, now is the migration assistant available on all oracle platforms?

AFAIK, Yes, the migration assistant is available on all platforms.
