DBA position in Fairfax,VA
We are seeking a DBA to be responsible for maintenance and enhancements of several database information systems in high-profile multi-agency projects. Responsible for understanding and applying business rules in database design, data transfer, and information systems engineering. Contact and communications with clients may be expected, so excellent verbal and written communications skills are a must. Mentoring of junior database administrators is expected. A positive outlook and good leadership skills are required. The position will be located in Fairfax, VA, with some local travel required. The qualified candidate must possess a minimum of a BS in Computer Science or related discipline with 10+ years experience. He/she should possess a thorough understanding of formal systems engineering life-cycle activities. Required experience include: Oracle DBA skills (8+ years), Sun Solaris shell scripting (4+ years). Experience with XML, web development, web systems engineering is also desired. The candidate must be a US citizen and be eligible for a TS/SCI security clearance. A TS/SCI clearance is highly preferred. References are required.
