is the only way to upgrade to 817, by using the odma?
I want to know whether I can do an exp/imp migration.
But by doing this dont I have to precreate a database?

I need to migrate about 20 unix test servers with different db's on them. They have large DB's on them. Should I use the odma for all of them rather than the manual way? Easier option ?
Use ODMA if the older and newer ORACLE_HOME are on the same machine.
Will be easier...
thanks for the info
can't you just install 8.1.7 in a different home, run the migration script on each database and change the init parameters appropriately?
