move controlfile and redo log files to another drive

My OS is HPUX 11.0. I am using Oracle 8.1.7. My control file (control01,redo1,redo2,redo3 logs) are located on root partition (vg00) which is not stored on the SANS(storage device). The Other files (control02,control03) is located on SANS.

I would like to move control01,redo logs to vg05.

1. Do I have to create a directory on vg05 to be exactly like the one located on vg00? or can I name the directory any name?

2. Can you give me step by step instructions to accomplish this?
