default password to log into svrmgrl

Hi,
I'm installing oracle 8i and I would like to know what's the user name and password to create the database. I tried using sys but when I run my create database script, I get insufficient privileges error message. what's the default user password and userid to use? Note - I created a password file using orapwd but was unable to logon successfully with the password.

try INTERNAL. If u have created the Instance u should have specified the INTPWD. It is the internal password. So try using that.
