installation for replication

I have done a Typical installation of Oracle Enterprise Edition ver 8.1.7. From the installation document, it says that a typical installation also installs Advanced Replication. If so, do I still need to run the catrep.sql script ? How do I find out if a database has been configured for Advanced Replication or not ?

Login as sys or system.
select * from v$option;

In the output , if you see Advanced Replication TRUE, then it is installed, othewise not.
