Hi Gurus,
When there are two ports mentioned in the tnsnames.ora, what does it mean?
The SID and servername is the same.
For example, pls refer to the following entry:
MYDB.WORLD =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (COMMUNITY = tcp.world)(PROTOCOL = TCP)(Host = mydb.america.com)(Port = 1521))
(ADDRESS = (COMMUNITY = tcp.world)(PROTOCOL = TCP)(Host = mydb.america.com)(Port = 1526))
)
(CONNECT_DATA = (SID = mydb))
)

Have you checked the listener file, listener.ora?

these port numbers are the default number recommended by oracle corp i.e 1521-1526 so i you can eliminate one
