I am about to select servers to be used as a platform for installing Oracle Applications CRM/Interaction Center for a major Call center here in my country , I need to know if a speed of 450 Mh RISC as for IBM pSeries is ok , as it will handle a call center 24/7 load , I am planning to have a standby server but I need an opinion of an expert who tested Oracle apps performance under Unix over RISC processors , will it Justify to go for the 1 G hz , I am talking about 350 agents on the LAN + customers accessing the same server via T1 lines.
A server will have only one instance at a time.
I am planning to get dual processor 450 + 2 G Ram + 8 Hard disks ( a mix between RAID 1 and RAID 5 ).
