Unable To See Traceid Using V$process

Hello,
I connect as TEST user in Oracle 10g.I can alter the session and set the TRACEFILE_IDENTIFIER='GOOD'.
But I cannot acces the V$ process from the user to see the TraceID.It says " Table or view does not exist".

I connect as SYS and can acess V$process but the SYS user does not show the TRACEID of TEST user.

I tried granting select on V$process from SYS account to TEST user.But says " can grant only on fixed tables/views"

Any idea on how to see the TRACEID ?

Grant dba/admin to test user
and then try for trace

or
in Oracle 10g we have plustrace role

Why not just grant select on V_$process? :rolleyes:

Grant select_catalog_role to test user

(this role gives access to data dictionary views & resources)

You should grant the least amount of privileges to each schema that allows them to do their job. If that weren't the case, then there would be no need for privileges. :rolleyes:
