We're using both Oracle and SQL Server in our company julian...
I recommend these SQL Server Books:
1) SQL Server 2000 unleashed 2nd edition by Ray Rankin
2) Admin 911 SQL Server 2000 by Brian Knight
3) SQL Server Backup and Recovery Tools and Techniques by Frank McBath
4) Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Performance Optimization and Tuning Handbook by Ken England
5) Professional SQL Server 2000 DTS by Mark Chaffin
That will get you started.
You could check out Chris Kempster's e-book -
'SQL Server 2000 for the Oracle DBA'

dont let the word professional scare you beacuse he starts from the basics

not a intro book.but you still a must read
